  1. Cream-

Adding whipped cream to any shake makes the consistency thick and creamy. You can add about 1/4th cup of heavy cream to this recipe. You can also top the milkshake with whipped cream while serving.

  1. Nut milk-

Instead of using toned milk, you can make mango milkshake by using almond or coconut milk. By using almond milk, coconut milk, cashew milk or soy milk to make an easy vegan milkshake.

  1. Whole milk-

If you want a rich and creamy tasting milkshake, then you should use whole milk or full fat milk. You can also add even-toned milk or skimmed milk.

  1. Ice-cream –

If you want a thick, creamy and rich milkshake then you can add 1-2 scoops of vanilla or mango ice cream while blending. Use only vanilla or mango ice-cream as only these ice cream goes well with the mango milkshake.

  1. Ice cubes- 

If you want a thin consistency milkshake then add 5-6 ice cubes. You can add 2-3 ice cubes while blending to make the milkshake chilled while serving.

  1. Nuts –

You can also add some nuts to make it a healthy drink. Adding almonds and cashews makes the milkshake more delicious. Add these nuts during garnishing while serving to make it more presentable.

Ingredients for Mango Milkshake

Following are the ingredients for mango milkshake used in this recipe. You can also add substitute according to your choice:

  • 2 cups mango cubes
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 3-4 ice cubes – optional
  • 2 tsp sugar/ honey/ jaggery – optional
  • Few nuts, chopped


  1. Add the 2 cups of chopped mangoes in a blender jar.
  2. Add 1.5 cups milk to the blender jar.
  3. Also add 3-4 ice cubes and 2tsp sugar.
  4. Blend till smooth and pour in glasses.
  5. Garnish it with chopped nuts.

Notes :

  1. Use fresh mangoes for great flavours.
  2. For milkshakes, always choose mangoes that are juicy and sweet. Don’t take fibrous fruit.
  3. Add vanilla or cardamom powder or cinnamon powder for flavouring.
  4. Use chilled milk to avoid the chances of milk cuddling.
  5. Add sugar only if mangoes are sour
  6. You can also add ice cream for a thick and creamy milkshake.
  7. You can also use nut milk for vegan milkshake.

Tips for Mango Shake

  • Mangoes-

Always choose mangoes that are juicy and sweet, for mango milkshake. Fibrous mangoes don’t make good mango shake. Avoid using sour or semi- sweet mangoes as they can cause stomach aches. Also, sour mangoes may cause cuddling of milk.

  • Sweeteners-

If you are using a sweet mango then their is no need to add sugar or any sweeteners in the milkshake. If you are a person who loves sweets, then you should add jaggery or honey instead of white sugar.

  • Flavouring-

Though mango is the king of flavours but if you want some change then you can add a small amount of cardamom powder or cinnamon powder. You can also add a dash of nutmeg or a pinch of saffron to it.

  • Canned mango pulp-

 You can also use canned mango pulp for mango milkshake. It is the next best option during the off season of mangoes. You can freeze mango pulp and use later to make any recipe of mangoes.

How to make a Mango Smoothie

You can also make mango smoothie very easily. You just need to reduce the amount of milk in the recipe for mango milkshake and add ¼ – ½  cup of plain yoghurt.
